The UAE denies moving any icebergs to its shores

In a tweet, the UAE Ministry of Energy denied the project to withdraw icebergs from the Antarctic to its coasts.

In a tweet published on May 15, the ministry confirmed that "there is no truth to the news circulating about the idea of bringing an iceberg or importing water through a pipeline from other countries."

The ministry noted the need to verify the circulating news before publishing it, and not to be drawn into rumours.
It is noteworthy that the ministry's assurances came after a period of news spread that the UAE intends to transfer huge ice blocks from the Antarctic to the coast of the Emirate of Fujairah, to help these blocks improve the climate and provide a source of fresh water.
