A source told the Russian newspaper Izvestia that "the new technologies that Russian experts are working on are supposed to be ready by 2025, and the total cost of the project may reach 30 billion rubles."

In the context, analyst and technical expert at the Mobile Research Group, Eldar Mortazin, said: “The development of 5th generation cellular networks in Russia is linked to the development of 6G networks. The process comes in a hierarchical manner, and it is impossible to develop equipment for 5G networks without first developing equipment for 6G networks.” And he added, "It is very necessary to develop XNUMXG networks in Russia, regardless of whether the equipment of these networks is locally developed or developed in China or in European countries."

It is reported that the technical expert and head of the Russian “NTI” Center for Communications and the Internet of Things, Dmitry Lakuntsev, had earlier pointed out that “6G networks are supposed to appear in Russia between 2033-2034, that is, three or four years after the launch of their tests. commercial.”

According to expectations, the speed of data transmission in 6G networks is supposed to reach 1 terabyte per second, which is approximately 50 times faster than what it is now in modern 5G networks, which are still in the early stages of their spread around the world.
