Melania Trump's ugly statue makes fun

Definitely not the statue that Melania Trump is waiting for in her hometown A gruesome life-size wooden statue of the First Lady of the United States, Melania Trump, has been unveiled near her hometown of Sevnica in southeastern Slovenia.

The statue was sculpted by local artist, Alice Zubifitz, and commissioned by Berlin-based American artist, Brad Downey. Friday's unveiling of the statue, which may be ironic, coincides with an exhibition by Downey in Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia.

The statue was carved from a live linden tree, the lower part of which forms a base on which the statue stands in a field near the Sava River in the village of Rozno, located eight kilometers from Sevnica. Some critics described the statue as a scarecrow, used in fields to scare birds.

The statue is an unremarkable engraved figure, but the rest of the body shows the blue dress Melania Trump wore during her husband Donald Trump's inauguration as President of the United States.

Downey said he wanted to highlight Melania Trump's standing as an immigrant who married a president who has vowed to curb immigration. The sculptor who made this statue is known as Maxi. He was born in the hospital where Melania was born, and he was born in the same month.
