The Louvre building in the center of Paris dates back to the end of the twelfth century, and this building, which was built on the Seine River, was a fortress in the Middle Ages, during the reign of King Philip Auguste, then King Charles V inhabited it in the fourteenth century, to become the residence of the kings of France, and it lasted on this This is the case for nearly 700 years.

In 1793, the Louvre Palace became a museum of artworks of that era and becomes one of the most important archaeological tourist attractions in Europe-France.

The Louvre is the largest museum in the world to the extent that it is impossible for a person to see the entire museum in one day. The museum displays 100 artifacts in total, but not all of this collection is allowed to be shown to visitors.

The galleries are divided into eight sections, which are as follows:

  2. Egyptian Antiquities.
  3. Greek, Etruscan and Roman Antiquities.
  4. Islamic Art.

  8. Prints and graphics

The Louvre contains pieces of art created by civilizations of antiquity (Eastern, Egyptian, Greek, Etruscan and Roman), as well as Arab-Islamic civilization and Islamic arts.

It also contains an impressive collection of Greek, Roman, Egyptian and Mesopotamian antiquities, which number 5664 artifacts, in addition to paintings and statues dating back to the eighteenth century AD.

   

 

 

 

It is also not possible to go out without buying souvenirs from the store dedicated to selling antiques and souvenirs.
