Facelift without surgery

Where a group of doctors conducted a study in which they followed the improvement in the faces of a small group of middle-aged women after they practiced face-lift exercises for half an hour daily for eight weeks, and then practiced exercises day after day for another 12 weeks.

The group of doctors was led by Dr. Murad Allam, who is the vice chair of the department of dermatology at the “Northwestern Feinberg School of Medicine” in Chicago.

Twenty-seven women between the ages of 27 and 40 took part in the study, but only 65 of them did all the exercise. The exercises began with two sessions to exercise the facial muscles, each lasting 16 minutes.


The participants learned how to do exercises to raise the cheeks, remove the pockets under the eyes, etc., and then practiced the exercises at home.
The researchers studied photos of the participants before and after the exercises, and they noticed an improvement in the fullness of the areas above and below the cheeks, and they also saw that the women who adhered to the program seemed to be younger in the end. The average age at which participants appeared to be nearly three years decreased from about 51 years to 48 years.
Writing in JAMA Dermatology, Allam and colleagues reported that participants reported greater satisfaction with their faces by the end of the study.


"We now have some evidence that facial exercises may improve its appearance and reduce some of the obvious effects of aging," Allam said. Assuming the results are confirmed in a larger study, there is the possibility of a cheap, non-toxic way to look younger.”
He added that the exercises enlarge and strengthen the facial muscles to become tighter, and then the person appears younger in age.
