How do you protect your skin from dehydration in the summer?

Our skin suffers from severe dryness in the summer, and with the advent of the month of Ramadan, and the lack of fluids entering our bodies, which are responsible for moisturizing our skin, our skin suffers from dehydration, which leads to many other problems.

- Avoid long baths with hot water, as the high temperature of the shower water loses the skin's natural moisture and removes the natural oils that envelop it. Make sure that your shower time does not last more than 10 minutes and replace hot water with lukewarm water, as it is also more refreshing in the summer.
- Consider the neck and upper chest areas as part of the face, and remember that these two areas are very sensitive and prone to early signs of aging. Therefore, it is necessary to take care of them with the same products that you use to care for the skin of the face with regard to daily cleansing and moisturizing.
- The dryness of the skin increases as a result of staying in air-conditioned conditions during the summer. In this case, it is necessary to use humidifiers that reduce the severity of the dry weather.
- It is possible to prepare an energizing lotion for the skin that refreshes it, reduces its oily secretions, and contributes to the renewal of its protective layer. You can find the ingredients of this lotion in perfumery stores. It is based on mixing 110 milliliters of hamamelis water with one tablespoon of sage leaves and one tablespoon of mint leaves. This mixture is left to react for 3 days before it is ready for use.

- Combat the dryness of the elbows with a piece of Indian lemon. Start by using a scrub on the elbows while showering, then cut an Indian lemon in half and rub the elbows with it for 15 minutes. The acid in this fruit will soften the skin of the hands in a short time.
- Make sure to choose a moisturizing cream that matches the summer climate, and choose it with a light, liquid formula that provides the skin with the hydration it needs without weighing it down. And do not forget to use a nourishing serum for the skin before bedtime to compensate for the deficiency that you may suffer during the long hours of fasting.
- Prepare a refreshing, moisturizing mixture that you use several times a day. Add a few drops of rose, sandal, or bergamot extract to a spray bottle of water and use this mixture to refresh your skin whenever you feel it's becoming dry or lacking in freshness.
- Be careful as much as possible not to touch the face with our hands, and always remember that our hands pick up many germs from our surroundings, even if we keep them clean and wash them several times a day.
- Use the gel found in the heart of the aloe vera plant to moisturize very dry areas of the skin. The acids in it rid the skin of dead cells accumulated on its surface and speed up its renewal process. It is enough to cut an aloe vera leaf in half to get its moisturizing gel content.
- Avoid putting perfume and perfumed lotion on the areas of the body exposed to the sun, as they cause dryness and the appearance of freckles.
