Salma Bahgat is a name and a horrific crime that shook Egypt in the past hours and brought to mind the incident of the slaughter of the student Naira Ashraf by her colleague in front of the gate of Mansoura University, after a young man stabbed a girl to death at the entrance to a property in the city of Zagazig in the north of the country.

It is reported that according to information obtained by Al-Arabiya.net from security sources and friends of the dead woman, Salma and Islam are colleagues at the Faculty of Mass Communication at Al-Shorouk University, and that the girl was training as a journalist in a local newspaper in the city of Zagazig, and the young man was emotionally associated with her on one side.

Security forces’ investigations also revealed that the victim, Salma Bahjat Muhammad, 20, and the accused, Islam Muhammad Fathi Muhammad, 20, met in the corridor of Zaidan Building in Zagazig, and a verbal altercation took place between them, which developed into a quarrel, during which the accused stabbed the girl with a knife several times until she breathed. Several posts

Investigations also revealed that the accused posted several posts on his Instagram page in which he threatened to kill the girl, including a picture of a knife covered in blood. Half an hour before the murder, the killer posted a blog in which he threatened to actually kill the girl.

In his statements to the security services, the killer said that he loved the girl and intended to marry her, and because of his great love for her, he drew a picture of her and tattooed her on his chest and hands, adding that she had abandoned him and refused to be associated with him, so he decided to kill her.

He also indicated that he had stabbed her 15 from the front, in addition to two from the back, and left her covered in blood, then fled before being caught by the security forces.
