Has it ever happened to you that you were talking to a friend and you felt that everything is happening around you that you saw before but you are surprised and angry because you cannot prove it to others? This is the phenomenon of déjà vu and it is one of the strange psychological phenomena and states.

Emile Bouyerck, in his book The Future of Psychology, named this phenomenon “deja vu,” a French phrase meaning “seen before.” Although scientists tried to explain the phenomenon early and despite scientific progress at all levels, there is no definitive and sure explanation for it, but one of the famous explanations is that the brain tries to apply a previous memory from a previous situation to a current situation, but it fails, which makes you feel that it happened before.

This error has several triggers, such as the similarity of the beginnings between the two situations or the similarity of emotions and other similarities that land the brain in déjà vu. Research has also been done on some people with neurological disorders who suffer from this phenomenon more than others, and it turns out that during deja vu, a seizure occurs in the temporal lobe (the part of the brain responsible for sensory perception) and during this seizure, a disorder occurs in the neurons, causing mixed messages to parts of the body. body causing this phenomenon to patients.

There is also another explanation that attributes the reason to the different functions of the brain. Each region of the brain has several functions. When we see something, it takes place in the places responsible for vision (Visual Center), but the understanding and awareness of what we see happens in another place, the Cognitive Center. Some scientists attribute the phenomenon of déjà vu to an imbalance in the synchronization of these areas in the brain.

Many of us are familiar with the phenomenon of deja vu (or "foreseeing illusion") and have experienced it several times. There is a completely opposite phenomenon called jami vu (the forgotten familiar). The University of Leeds in Britain conducted a study, in which it asked 92 volunteers to write the word “door” in English 30 times in 60 seconds, and the result was that 68% of them felt that they were the first time they saw this word, and this is Jami Fu.

Jami-fu is your inability to remember something familiar or regard it as strange, such as seeing a word you know and feeling the first time you read it, suddenly discovering that there is something strange in the place where you live, or talking to someone you know and feeling like you are seeing it for the first time. This phenomenon increases with epileptic seizures.
