What is the secret behind the popularity of the song Despacito, and how did a local song gain this reputation so quickly?

During a television interview on ON channel, Puerto Rican artist Luis Fonsi, owner of the famous song "Despacito", said that he did not expect it to achieve more than one million views per day after its release.

He indicated during the meeting with him on the sidelines of the concert he performed in Egypt: “My goal was to reach a million views. But I was surprised that the number increased to 5 million on the first day.”

He added, “This was standard. On the second day, we achieved 8 million, and on the third, 12 million. Then the average daily viewership became 20 million, which is unbelievable.”

The Puerto Rican artist revealed that he received a call while in Italy from Canadian singer Justin Bieber asking him to allow him to sing "Despacito".

He said, “My joy was unbelievable. This was so cool I never thought a world-class singer like Justin Bieber would sing it. When I heard his performance, I found that he gave the song a different flavor. I think that this is what opened the doors for her to spread in countries she knows and does not know me. I am really grateful to him and everyone who knew and loved the song.”

He concluded: “I have been singing for 20 years, but I am still a new artist to many. I aspire to win an American Grammy, knowing that I have Latin.”
