Under the hashtag “Techno-harasser,” thousands of Jordanians tweeted about the case, calling for the “harasser” to be held accountable, and expressing their support for the victim student who said in the recording that the teacher refused to receive young men in his office, but only girls, adding that two female colleagues assured her that he tried to approach them in his office.

Another explained that the accused professor intended to put wrong grades on the students in order to force them to review him in his office.

While this uproar prompted the University of Science and Technology to open an official investigation, stressing in a statement that it had started the investigation into the incident with the aim of investigating the truth, and in order to preserve the reputation of the university, its professors and students.

It also announced the formation of a committee to examine the merits of the issue headed by one of the university's vice presidents and a number of deans. And it stressed that it will take the most deterrent measures against those who are proven guilty or involved in this crime, while it will reserve the legal right if it is confirmed that the information is incorrect.
