Air fryers have become very popular, especially as they enable us to cook foods healthily using very low amounts of fat, and encourage us to stay away from eating fried foods, providing a quick and healthy alternative to regular fryers.

However, while the appliance can be used to cook a number of foods including potato chips, pizza, and falafel, there are many other products that are not suitable for cooking with air fryers.

And according to what was reported by the “Daily Mail” newspaper, there is a list of 7 foods that you should never cook in the air fryer, which are:

1- Popcorn

If you are planning to watch a movie or series, you may be tempted to put some dry corn kernels in the air fryer to make delicious popcorn. But the tip is to use the microwave to make popcorn instead of an air fryer. Most air fryers don't get hot enough to pop popcorn kernels. A good microwave will do a much better job.

2- Pasta

You cannot use an air fryer to cook raw noodles, because you need to put them in boiling water. And while cooking pasta sauce in an air fryer is technically possible, it can get pretty messy.

You can use an air fryer to reheat pasta and sauce that have already been cooked, but the microwave is a much more efficient way to do this.

3- Toasted bread

Air fryers can dry out bread and crumbs can get stuck to the bottom while cooking, so it's best not to toast them in an air fryer.

4- Rice

Cooking rice from scratch requires the use of water, so an air fryer is absolutely not suitable for that. An air fryer is not a device used for boiling and steaming, and it is best to use a slow cooker or a pot to cook on the stove.

5- Fresh leafy vegetables

Lettuce leaves, kale, and spinach are known for being lightweight and likely to be puffed around the air fryer, creating a mess that's more than just a tasty snack.

6.- Cheeses (except halloumi)

While frozen cheese products like fried cheese sticks or mozzarella sticks are fine for air-frying, it's best to avoid using any other fresh cheese. Most fresh cheeses have a low melting point, which means they can burn quickly.

7- A whole chicken

Unless you have a huge air fryer, avoid putting a whole chicken in it. Air fryers need enough space to allow the hot air to circulate, and a whole chicken will take up too much space to allow that to happen. This means that a whole chicken is likely to burn on the outside, and remain raw on the inside.
