A sports star rejects a $XNUMX million contract because of his refusal to get the Corona vaccine

Brooklyn Nets star Kyrie Irving confirmed, on Monday, that he refused to extend his contract for 4 years for more than 2020 million dollars before the 2021-19 season due to his decision not to receive a “Covid-XNUMX” vaccine.
Irving said in statements on the media day before the start of the season, “I gave up the extension of my contract for another four years, in exchange for 100 million and some millions because of my adherence to my decision not to vaccinate,” according to AFP.
"To sign such a contract, to get vaccinated or not, there is a level of uncertainty about your future, so I had to face the possibility of losing my job because of this decision," he added.

The Brooklyn Nets star, who plays in the NBA Championship, Irving, added that he had received an "ultimatum" for vaccination if he wanted to extend his contract.
"We were supposed to settle everything before the training camp last season," he stressed. It did not happen simply because of my refusal. I just had to live with it. It was a difficult situation to digest.”
However, the team's general manager, Sean Marks, refuted the idea of issuing an "ultimatum" to the player, and explained, "It was only a matter of dealing with trusted, present and responsible people. All of us, the employees, the players and the coaches. It wasn't about giving someone an ultimatum to get vaccinated."
