Do you constantly have bad dreams or nightmares while sleeping? Have you ever asked yourself why you see these bad dreams that keep you upset all day?

Well.. you certainly did not think before that some of the foods that you may eat before bed may be the cause of these nightmares! Of course, we cannot blame food alone for bad dreams. There are a number of factors that may cause nightmares, including anxiety, stress, bad sleeping habits, nervous stress, fear of the future, and other factors that may cause us bad dreams.

According to a report published by the “Boldsky” website, which is concerned with health affairs, scientists have concluded that certain types of foods may make you see disturbing dreams in your sleep, including:

1- Spicy foods: Hot and spicy foods may cause disturbing dreams and nightmares, resulting in disturbed sleep, and may cause an increase in body temperature at times, and may affect brain activity during sleep.

2- Caffeine: Drinking caffeinated beverages before going to sleep usually causes difficulty in entering the stage of sleep, and caffeine stimulates the brain and keeps it alert, which may result in seeing dreams.

3- Potato Chips Would you rather spend your evening watching a movie and gorging on crispy potato chips? . This may be the reason for the bad dreams you have while you sleep, because fatty foods (like potato chips) have a bad reputation for causing nightmares if eaten at night right before bed.

4- Sugars: Psychologists agree that sugary foods may cause nightmares, so try to stay away as much as possible from eating candy, biscuits or sugary baked goods before going to sleep, in order to avoid having nightmares while you sleep.

5- Soda: Sugary drinks that contain soda are usually rich in chemical and industrial additives, which cause disturbing dreams if consumed before bed.

6- Alcoholic beverages: Alcoholic beverages destroy peaceful sleep, and cause terrifying dreams. Some people may even see strange visions that may reach the point of “hallucination” if they drink too much alcohol and reach the point of intoxication.
