Electric cars seek to save energy as well

The world's largest battery manufacturer has announced a model for what it says is the first "ultra-fast charging" battery, capable of providing power to travel 400 kilometers, when charging for just 10 minutes.

When fully charged, the battery will provide the car with enough charge to travel over 700 km without the need to recharge.

According to the battery manufacturer, it was able to achieve this through a “new superconducting electrolyte formula” that leads to improved conductivity, knowing that the “electrolyte” is any substance that contains free ions that form a medium that conducts electricity.

According to the company's chief scientist, Dr. Wu Kai, it is necessary to innovate in the field of electric car batteries, and to make advanced technology in this field accessible to consumers of this category of vehicles.

The company, which was the first in the world in 2022 in terms of battery production, plans to start producing its “revolutionary” battery later this year.

The company did not disclose which car makers are interested in the battery or who will get it first, knowing that its list of customers includes companies such as Toyota, Honda, Tesla, Volvo, Volkswagen, BMW and Daimler.

It is reported that sales of electric cars have witnessed record growth in recent years, as more than 10 million cars were sold last year, yet they still represent less than a fifth of total car sales in all categories.
