Five ways to achieve skin recovery in the summer

Drinking water and staying in an air-conditioned environment helps reduce the irritating effect of heat on the skin, but there are also refreshing cosmetic procedures in this area. Get to know them below.

These steps are simple and easy to apply, which encourages them to be included in your summer beauty care routine.

1- Putting cosmetics and accessories in the refrigerator:

This idea may seem strange, but it is very useful, as it enhances the performance of cosmetic products and accessories and maintains their effectiveness. Among the products that are recommended to be kept in the refrigerator in the summer, we mention the cream around the eyes, whose cooling helps to enhance its effect against pockets and wrinkles, especially if it is equipped with a metal head that refreshes the skin.

The refrigerator can also keep day cream, body lotions, anti-heaviness cream for the feet, creams that contain ingredients that are highly sensitive to heat such as vitamins C and E, after-sun cream, and mineral water spray. We can also keep massage tools (guasha, jade rollers…) in the refrigerator. to increase its effectiveness.

2- Using products that have a cooling effect:

In the summer, we need to make adjustments to our skin care routine by using care products with gentle formulas, and looking for products with a double action that provides a sense of freshness in addition to moisturizing the skin, enhancing its plumpness, or even smoothing its wrinkles. One of the useful ingredients in this regard is menthol, which is a stimulant that, upon contact with the skin, creates a sensation of freshness similar to that provided by chewing mint-flavoured gum.

3- Use of refreshing spray and thermal water:

The thermal water and the refreshing mist are very beneficial for the skin in the summer. These preparations are usually rich in vitamins and minerals, and some of them are effective in protecting against pollution.

In this regard, it is recommended to choose formulations that maintain skin moisture throughout the day and help the body to withstand the high temperature, provided that they are used several times a day when feeling the need to refresh.

4- Take a bath with lukewarm water:

If you think that a cold shower refreshes the skin, know that this is not true because exposure to cold water will lead to lowering the body temperature and then raising it, which increases the feeling of heat after the bath. It is recommended to take a lukewarm or hot shower, especially before going to sleep, and the matter also applies to drinking a lukewarm or hot drink instead of a cold one, to get the opposite effect in this regard.

After completing the shower, it is advised not to let the skin dry on its own for a few minutes, which creates a feeling of refreshment during periods of extreme heat. For more refreshment under the shower, it is recommended to choose a shower gel with an invigorating or vitalizing effect that contains algae extracts, sea salts, lemon, mint, or pine.

5- Using perfumes rich in refreshing notes:

In this regard, preference is given to perfumes in the form of cologne or toilet water, provided that they are rich in refreshing notes such as citrus fruits (bergamot, grapefruit, lemon...), aromatic notes (basil, rosemary...), or green notes (herbs, galbanum...). It is necessary to pay attention not to expose the skin to the sun after applying perfume to avoid the appearance of dark spots.
