In the presence of His Excellency Butti Saeed Al Kindi, the World Art Fair Dubai opens the doors of its fourth session

The first day of the "World Art Dubai" exhibition witnessed a distinguished presence of a number of officials and personalities of the local, regional and global artistic community, presented by His Excellency Butti Saeed Al Kindi, Second Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Dubai World Trade Center, who toured the exhibition sections held in its fourth session at the Dubai World Trade Center. His Excellency was briefed with a crowd of visitors about the most important activities and sections of the regionally-leading exhibition offering artworks at reasonable prices.

With the participation of more than 300 artists and galleries, the exhibition will host the most important artistic productions to highlight them within the framework of the Dubai Art Season, which will continue until Saturday, April 21. During his tour, Al Kindi was briefed on a collection of more than 4000 works of contemporary art, ranging from drawings, sculptures, digital images, and installation works created by its artists on demand.

The delegation that toured the exhibition included Trixie LohMirmand, Senior Vice President of Exhibitions and Events Management at the Dubai World Trade Centre, who commented on the exhibition: “World Art Dubai continues its annual growth in a way that meets the growing passion of Dubai residents for original artwork, and thus provides a platform Art enables veteran collectors and newcomers to the art world to purchase the creations of emerging local and international artists at affordable prices.”

In addition to hosting more than 150 artists and 50 galleries from the UAE, World Art Dubai 2018 hosts a large number of artists from around the world, including the USA, UK, India, China, Peru, Denmark, Germany and others.

The exhibition is also proud to host the national pavilions of India and Japan in this year's edition. On Thursday, the Japanese pavilion will host a VIP Japanese Culture Night, where attendees will learn about calligraphy, music and entertainment. The international artists participating in the exhibition emphasize the growing importance of the exhibition on a global level as a leading platform for obtaining artworks at affordable prices starting from $100, and confirms Dubai's position on the art scene as one of the most important sponsors and support centers for art and creativity.

World Art Dubai 2018 offers its guests a schedule full of activities suitable for all family members, in addition to the exhibition activities, which include expert panel discussions, hosted by the 'Ajala' project, Dubai Cares, Huawei and other local and international entities. The dialogue sessions will address various topics, including art and its impact: What is the true meaning of art? Some of them stress the importance of making use of waste, and some of them introduce the concepts of “art, travel and photography.”

Not only does World Art Dubai embrace emerging artists, but it invites all its attendees to unleash their creativity and explore the artist in them, by hosting many activities, dialogues and interactive workshops over the weekend. These activities include an education on how to make a dream catcher by hand, and a workshop on mandala arts and Islamic geometry, under the supervision of local artist Jaber Al-Haddad.

In conjunction with the exhibition, the Ripe Handicraft Market opens its doors daily, providing an opportunity for local exhibitors to present their creations of contemporary gifts, furniture, artwork, crafts, jewelry and handcrafted fashion. The organizer of the exhibition was also keen to meet the aspirations of the young loved ones, where parents can spend quality time with their children in the "Art Attack" corner. To celebrate the Year of Zayed, Forever Rose will present a work of art inspired by a portrait taken in 1957 of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God rest his soul, obtained from the National Archives.

It is noteworthy that the World Art Fair Dubai 2018 opens its doors to visitors from Wednesday, April 18 to Saturday, April 21, between 2 pm and 9 pm. Entry tickets can be purchased at a price of 25 dirhams from the exhibition website.
