March to Live to support cancer patients

Today, Friday, November 17, at 18:1700 p.m., the activities of the "Live Live" march, one of the initiatives of the Friends of Cancer Patients Association, will start at the same time on Saturday, November 52, at the American University of Sharjah, with the participation of more than 37 individuals and institutions, including 67 schools, six universities, eight sponsors, in addition to XNUMX government and private institutions, and XNUMX cancer survivors confirmed their participation in its activities.

The march, which is organized by the Society for the first time in the Middle East and North Africa, in cooperation with the American Cancer Society, is the largest campaign launched with the aim of collecting donations for cancer patients, raising the level of community awareness of the disease, and promoting all forms of support and assistance with the sufferers and their families.

The march includes more than 40 special entertainment activities within the accompanying programs and events, which are held over a period of 24 hours, including a wide range of accompanying musical performances, as well as comedy shows, literary and cultural events, such as poetry and storytelling, in addition to other sporting events and activities such as American football, golf, fencing.

Special activities for youngsters have been allocated, including rubber castles and art games as well as handicrafts, face painting, and watching movies, which are organized within a play area designed specifically for children to enjoy spending the most beautiful times, and adults can also take a break and relax by participating in classes Special for aerobics, yoga, zumba, and other sports and leisure activities to relieve fatigue and exhaustion.

Al-Mady confirmed that the remarkable presence of the teams participating in the march spreads the positive spirit in the hearts of all volunteers, noting that this sports gathering draws the attention of all segments of society to participate in supporting and assisting people with cancer in various ways and means.

The “Live Live” march includes teams of participants, where each team roams around a specific path at a specific time in a circular path bearing a special logo, such as the path for new friends, the path of heroes, the path of the conga, the path of the triple lap, the path of children, a path for families, and a path for families. The group wearing strange hats, the path for taking a selfie, the path for groups in fancy dress, and another path for the group with strange hairstyles, as these groups continue to spin their tracks until 18 pm on November XNUMX, then return to the fighting path .

The association indicated that the opportunity is available for those wishing to volunteer from those participating in fundraising activities, which include selling food and beverages, homemade gifts, candles, T-shirts, and many other events that are held at the site of the event, as the American University of Sharjah provides the march participants with multiple options that include its facilities, displaying sponsors’ logos, providing security support for the event, securing car parking spaces for participants, and providing volunteers who play an active role in ensuring the smooth organization and success of this major humanitarian event.

It is noteworthy that the “Live Live” sports march was launched for the first time in the United States of America in 1985, and has so far succeeded in raising more than 18 billion dirhams to support cancer patients around the world, and has contributed to providing the opportunity for societies to work together to support cancer sufferers.
