Doha, March 28, 2022 – Qatar Museums today announced the preliminary designs for the Qatar Automobile Museum, which were prepared by the Office of Metropolitan Architecture (OMA), led by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Rem Koolhaas.

The Qatar Automobile Museum will be built on Lusail Expressway between 5/6 Park and Katara Cultural Village in the former Exhibition Center building where the first car show was held in Qatar in 2011. Qatar Museums is working with OMA, the Metropolitan Office of Architecture on designs for a makeover. Building. The exhibition “A Look at the Qatar Auto Museum Project” opens, which reveals the museum project at the National Museum of Qatar as a simple example of what the museum will display. It allocated the Classic Cars Hall at the Qatar National Museum for the activities of the Sealine Sports Club (Mawater). In continuation of these steps, this exhibition comes to announce the initial designs for the Qatar Automobile Museum project, which will bring together car enthusiasts in Qatar under one roof and for one goal, which is to employ the common interest of love for cars to support a culture of innovation, design, sustainability, and traffic safety, and to inspire the next generation of Innovators, designers, engineers, collectors, and decision makers.

The 30-square-meter (320-square-foot) museum will include permanent galleries tracing the evolution of automobiles from their invention to the present day, the impact of automobiles on our culture in Qatar, as well as temporary exhibition spaces for large vehicles – from supercars, fast cars and high-powered cars. Limited Editions to Race Cars and Classic Cars.
