During the past hours, the crime of Maryam Muhammad, the Syrian girl who was killed by 15 stab wounds in separate parts of her body, shook Jordanian circles, until it became the talk of social networking sites.

The 27-year-old woman, who was killed last Friday by a Jordanian man, was found covered in her blood in the Ashrafieh neighborhood in the capital, Amman.

Investigations revealed by the media spokesman for the Public Security Directorate in Jordan, on Monday, revealed that the perpetrator had repeatedly proposed to the girl, but she refused, so he killed her.

He shot her dead

The official stated that a report was received that a girl of Arab nationality was stabbed by an unknown person while she was in the Ashrafieh area and soon died.

He also added that investigations into the case and information gathering had identified the perpetrator, who had been found to have absconded since committing the crime, noting that the authorities moved and arrested him in preparation for his referral to the judiciary.

It revealed that the killer was a Jordanian young man, born in 1987. He has a history and has two records in his record: “harm, slander, threats, and carrying a weapon.”

In addition, the crime preoccupied social media with details of the killing of the young woman, residing in Jordan, with 15 stab wounds to her body, at the hands of a Jordanian youth, because she refused to marry him.

Twitter pioneers also launched the hashtag #Haq_Maryam_Muhammad, in which they demanded the most severe penalties for the offender.
