Tiffany Jewelry Launches The Natural Blue Book Jamooh Collection 2017

The new Blue Book from Tiffany & Co. for the year 2017, entitled The Art of the Wild.

The wilderness can strike the earth with a rainstorm of thunder and lightning, and it can tickle the horizon with a beautiful rainbow. What wears the form of utter chaos is really nothing but the amazing system of the world. Art of the Wild is the new vision of the talented design team at Tiffany's, who have traveled the world on a journey from inspiration deep in nature to a remote tropical island. The collection comprises of six themes, Whispers of the Rain Forest, Miracle Berry, The Falls, Leaves of the Sun, Feathered Cloak, and Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow, all featuring intricate designs and themes inspired by the wonders of the wilderness. “We constantly strive to push the boundaries of craftsmanship and innovation in every possible way,” says Melvin Kirtley, Tiffany's Chief Gemologist and Vice President of Fine Jewelery. Every year, we look for different ways to produce pieces that are so technically complex that it seems impossible to achieve, but here we are turning the impossible into the possible.”

With the Whispers of the Rain Forest theme, Tiffany transforms the turbulence and agility of nature into an adorable piece. To capture this delicate sense of energy, the House's artisans created gem-encrusted foliage, woven together by an intricate diamond rope, that seemed to whisper as it moved. The collection includes a diamond necklace comprising of 200 baguette-cut diamonds set in platinum with a stud entirely set with round diamonds connecting the necklace with over 350 hand-carved 18 karat yellow gold leaves that recall the delicate hiss of trees. The collection also includes white diamond earrings and 30 yellow diamonds that range in colors from Fancy Yellow to Fancy Vivid for a heart-warming effect.

The Miracle Berry collection was inspired by a magical berry that turned sour into sweet, and it sparkled in very innovative designs, in terms of color and shape at the same time. The collection features a three-tiered necklace in which radiant orange spessartites combine with rich rubellite and gold beads set with white and yellow diamonds. At a time when the size and purity of each stone is quite uncommon and dazzling, Tiffany's artisans take design to a new level by weaving the chains together and encrusting them with diamonds, as well as spessartite and round-shaped rubellite beads. The 18 karat gold leaf of the mottled group is woven with a shifting mix of diamonds and colored gemstones, appearing like dew drops on the leaves. Also included in the collection is the Miracle Berry cocktail ring set with a 20-carat cabochon-cut rubellite that is unmatched in size, purity and a vibrant, saturated red shade.

The Tiffany design team on their journey drew inspiration from the forces of nature, especially its waterfalls and its power. This Falls designs recreate the movement with diamonds that seem to come from within and fall off. In it, he mentions the absence of pattern and idealism in the continuous movement of water and the great aesthetic potential within it. The power of water shines through in a charming baguette-cut, pear-cut and round diamond necklace with long graduated streaks symbolizing the shimmering effect of the waters tumbling from the towering rocks.

Despite the many forms of nature, there are themes, such as renewal, for example, that remain eternal. Tiffany wanted to embody the concept of rebirth and the energy in which leaves reach the sun to derive life from. In nature, we experience a sense of openness and intensity at the same time. Tiffany has recreated that feeling in Leaves of the Sun designs by emphasizing the lightness of the metal on the one hand, and the depth in the way the pieces are visualized and sculpted on the other. The collection includes palm leaf shaped over-the-ear earrings of tsavorite and yellow sapphires paired with black South Sea pearls, selected for their green tone that is capable of carving a very harmonious design. Also in the Blue Book Collection, the dazzling colors and stunning shapes of exotic birds come to life in Feathered Cloak designs. On one hinge cuff, time stops at a bird spreading its wing, while yellow sapphires, blue sapphires and spessartites set in 18-karat rose gold reflect the colorful radiance of their feathers. Also included in the collection is a ring featuring a rare and striking 13-carat oval blue tourmaline of exceptional purity for its size, an exotic bird-shaped clasp of tourmalines and sapphires set in platinum with an oval blue tourmaline at the crown and a flexible ribbon-like tail at the stone end. Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow designs go back to Tiffany's long history of creating beautiful flowers. The collection draws inspiration from the rose of yesterday, today and tomorrow, a plant that changes color over the course of three days, gently transforming from purple to violet to white, capturing this transformation with jewels set with opaque gemstones. While some of the designs in this collection are a celebration of colour, others highlight the elegance of the intertwining of petals. The centerpiece of the bracelet is a 45-carat cabochon-cut rubellite, stranded in baguette-cut pink sapphires, with round white diamonds set in platinum.
