Beware the yogurt!!!!

It is not that healthy food that we can eat freely and whenever we want. A recent British study warned that some types of yogurt may contain more sugar than soft drinks, despite it being considered “healthy.”

This conclusion comes after a study conducted on about 900 types of yogurt offered for sale in shops in Britain.

The research conducted by Leeds University and published by the newspaper "The Telegraph" found that organic yogurt was one of the most sugar-containing types, with products containing less than 5 grams of sugar per 100 grams classified as low in sugar, while products containing 22.5 grams of sugar per 100g is considered high in sugar.

Both natural and Greek yogurts can be classified as low in sugar.

Organic yogurt was the second largest sugar-sweetened product, containing 13.1 grams of sugar per 100 grams.

The study also found that children's yoghurt contained 10.8g per 100g, equivalent to more than two sugar cubes, compared to 9g of sugar in 100g of soft drinks.

The National Health Authority recommends that the daily amount of sugar for children aged 4 to 6 years should not exceed 19 g of sugar or 5 sugar cubes per day, and it is recommended that the consumption of children aged 7 to 10 years should not exceed 24 g of sugar per day. While adults are not advised to exceed the consumption of 30 g of sugar per day.
