What is ulcerative colitis .. its causes and the most important symptoms?
Ulcerative colitis (UC): This is a type of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Inflammatory bowel disease consists of a group of diseases that affect the digestive system. This inflammation results in small sores called ulcers on the lining of the colon. Inflammation usually begins in the rectum and spreads upward. It can include the entire colon. This condition affects people of all ages.
Common symptoms of UC include:
  1.  Stomach ache
  2.  Increased abdominal sounds
  3.  bloody stools
  4.  Diarrhea
  5.  Fever
  6.  Rectal pain
  7.  Weight loss
  8.  Malnutrition
 In advanced cases of the disease, symptoms may develop into the following: 
  1.  Joint pain
  2.  swollen joints
  3.  Nausea and lack of appetite
  4.  skin problems
  5.  mouth ulcers
  6.  Eye infection
Causes of ulcerative colitis: 
 genes: You may inherit a gene from one parent which increases your chance of getting UC.
 Other immune disorders: If you have one type of immune disorder, your chance of developing a second type is higher.
 environmental factors: Bacteria, viruses, and antigens may stimulate your immune system.
