When is the use of ICSI?

Cases in which the delay in pregnancy is due to reasons related to the husband, such as poor semen analysis of the husband (sperm number, movement, or high percentage of sperm abnormalities), or the absence of sperm, which requires treatment, or the presence of a blockage where it is possible in this case to work Exploration of sperm in the testicle In these cases, sperm can be extracted through a surgical procedure, in which a small opening is made in the testicle, and part of the tissue is taken under general or local anesthetic, and the patient is discharged two hours after the operation.

There are also several cases related to the wife, such as the advanced age of the wife, poor ovulation, poor ovarian reserve, early menopause, polycystic ovaries, endometriosis, pelvic adhesions, blockage of the fallopian tubes, or one of them.

Microinjection steps:

The attending physician determines the appropriate treatment protocol for each case, and the ovaries are activated to release the largest number of eggs, and ovulation is followed up until the eggs reach the appropriate size.

Eggs are withdrawn from the wife in a simple process that does not take more than 20 minutes.

A semen sample is taken from the husband, or sperm extracted from the testicle.

The cells surrounding the egg are removed, and kept in special incubators, and one sperm is selected (isolated) using a microscope, or a special microscope, then the sperm is injected into the cytoplasm of the egg using a fine needle that can only be seen under the microscope.

– The eggs are examined after 24 hours to ensure that fertilization has occurred, and then they are examined again after 24 hours to ensure cell division, and the embryos are transferred on the third or fifth day as the doctor deems appropriate for your case

The couple waits for fourteen days, then they do a pregnancy analysis to know the result of the attempt. During this period, it is advised to rest and not to exercise violent, or take any medications other than those recommended by the doctor.
