Surprising study..open the doors of your house and sleep well

It is not what you think, in a surprising result, a Dutch study revealed that opening windows and doors in your home improves your sleep!
Despite the innumerable number of studies regarding sleep and ways to improve its quality, the results of that study were somewhat strange, as it showed, according to Reuters, that opening windows and doors in bedrooms helped reduce carbon dioxide levels and improve ventilation and air flow. air, which improved the quality of sleep for healthy young adults in the study.

"We spend about a third of our lives in the vicinity of the bedroom, but the air quality in the environment around us is often neglected during sleep," said Dr. Asit Mishra from Eindhoven University of Technology. "Imagine this... you are in an enclosed space and have limited ability to adjust this situation (since you started sleeping) even though you are surrounded by pollutants," he told Reuters Health by phone.

During one night in this study, 17 volunteers slept in a bedroom with a window or door open, and another night the room's windows and door were closed.
Meanwhile, Mishra and colleagues monitored carbon dioxide levels, air temperature, ambient noise, and humidity. Study participants were asked not to drink alcoholic or caffeinated drinks, which can affect sleep. Each of them slept alone.
To measure air quality, participants wore tapes on their arms that measured skin temperature, bed temperature and skin moisture levels. They also wore sensors that tracked their movements during the night, including indicators of restlessness during sleep.
Closing the bedrooms reduced the ambient noise, but the levels of carbon dioxide increased significantly, which indicates poor levels of ventilation.

Carbon dioxide levels were significantly lower when windows or doors were left open.
In general, skin and bed temperatures in closed rooms were higher than in open rooms. The number of awakenings decreased and sleep efficiency improved as carbon dioxide levels decreased.

"Opening an interior door can be a reasonably good alternative if you don't want to open the windows either for noise or security considerations," Mishra said.
