Tomorrow is the opening of the twelfth edition of Art Dubai

The activities of the twelfth edition of Art Dubai, which is held under the generous patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, will be launched tomorrow. A variety of workshops, dialogues and events.

Art Dubai 2018 will witness the participation of 105 galleries from 48 countries divided between Contemporary Art Halls, Modern Art Gallery and the New Residents Hall.

The program for this year's edition of Art Dubai includes unveiling the winning work in the tenth edition of the Abraaj Art Prize, which was won by the artist Lawrence Abu Hamdan, in addition to hosting the J Group. bad. bad. In addition, under the new partnership with the Misk Art Institute, Art Dubai presents an exhibition of museum artworks entitled “Discovering a Hard Life,” which displays rare works by pioneers of modern art from the region, in addition to a screening of the documentary “A View toward Saudi Arabia,” which relies on virtual reality technology and tells the story of a rich community. On the sidelines of the exhibition this year, the twelfth edition of the World Art Forum will be held under the title “I am not a robot.” The forum sessions focus on automation and artificial intelligence with all the attendant opportunities and concerns, in addition to the second edition of the Art Dubai Modern Symposium for Modern Art, which is a series of dialogues. The Sheikha Manal Young Artists Program returns for its sixth edition with Japanese-Australian artist Hiromi Tango, who will present an interactive artwork throughout the week under the title “Giving Nature”

Art Dubai Modern is unique in being the only commercial platform in the world that displays museum works by artists from Middle East, North Africa and South Asia regions. Art Dubai Modern is held in exclusive partnership with the Misk Art Institute.

Residents Professional Residency Program
The first version of this program will be launched this year, and it is a unique artistic residency program that includes inviting 11 artists from around the world for an art residency program in the UAE that takes 4-8 weeks, during which they produce artworks that reflect their local experience, to present these works in cooperation with the exhibitions to which they belong. Artists at Art Dubai are featured in this new exhibition. The program included artist residencies at N5 and Tashkeel institutions in Dubai and Warehouse 421 in Abu Dhabi. This program provides participating artists with the opportunity to connect with local art communities and work collaboratively with other artists.

The star of the program will be the famous singer and TV chef, Suleiman Al-Qassar, one of the stars of the Gulf cooking programs. The interactive experience with the TV will evolve and diversify with the passage of the exhibition days, so that the attendees can interact with the displayed programs, scenes and furniture.
